A book is like a Christmas present. It sits underneath a Christmas Tree, waiting to be opened. It might be wrapped in shiny cover screaming to the world at the top of its lungs, “Open me!” Or it may sit at the bottom of a pile of presents, discovered after all of its companions are opened. Or it could be a waiting treasure tucked among the discarded, crumpled wrapping paper, a hidden delight to be stumbled over.
Depending on the reader, they can be torn through to get into the goodie inside. Or they might be carefully unwrapped, the process of unfolding each corner a solemn ritual unmarred by the slightest rip or wrinkle. Either method reveals the gift of the story within.
Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too!
