This wasn’t what my blog post this week was going to be about.
I read something on the 4th that I planned on riffing off of. I came across it while at work and didn’t take the time to write down notes on it, just note the passage that inspired me. I’d remember it, I thought with confidence.
Famous last words.
Today I got a chance to sit down and write the post. I pulled up the note and reread the passage. I drew a complete blank. I know what I want to write in the generic sense, but what I had in my head, that moment of inspiration, is clean gone.
That’s not to say that this week has been unproductive. I’ve been working on a short story, what I think will end up being a flash fiction piece. I’ve been doing research into the next steps for Chaos Wolf. In non-writing related things, I’ve been looking into a new design for my website, finishing the first part of my next costume, and trying to get our new Blu-ray and Apple TV to play nice together. (Spoiler alert – they don’t.)
I am also helping Mom prepare for her second cataract surgery this Wednesday, as well as the appointment double checking the results of her first. This may be why I’m having problems remembering the post idea. My brain is scattered in about fifteen different directions.
The idea will come back eventually. I know it. I just have to be patient and set a trap of notebook paper for it.
