So as you can see, I’m behind target on my word count.
I know what went wrong. I had two bad nights. My first bad night night I got 850 words done. I thought I’d be okay because I had a 900 word buffer. I’d build up after that and get another buffer going.
Best laid plans. I only got 150 words done the second bad night instead of the 1667 I was supposed to. So now I’m roughly one thousand words behind pace. It’s not an insurmountable obstacle, but it’s one that eating away at my brain.
Yes, I had a three day weekend in the US, and I thought I would have a chance to catch up. However, other things came up that I had to take care of. In fact, I’ve skipped something I wanted to do Sunday because I had to go grocery shopping. NaNoWriMo or not, I do need to eat. Between groceries and writing, the trip to San Francisco was a non-starter.
About the story itself, I’m happy with it. I’m liking where it’s going. I’ve got one or two things I need to figure out. Part of my problem is that I’m waiting for some research to come through. I think I’m going to have to dive in and figure it out myself and have an expert verify it instead of having the expert walk me through it.
So after I schedule this post, I’ll be disappearing into the word mines again. With any luck, I’ll bring back my requirement for the day, plus some.
