Wibbly-wobbly Timey-wimey Hatty-watty

The danger of being a knitter or a crocheter is looking at something an thinking, “I can make that.”  Many times things I know I can make I end up not, mostly because of the time involved.  This is one of those cases where I thought it and did it.

My friend Elanor and I were at a con when we came across a vendor selling crochet hats.  There were all sorts of hats, some representing different fandoms – Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, and of course Doctor Who.  In fact, a hat similar this one caught our attention.  And I knew I had seen a pattern for one before.  So I uttered those fateful words, and then went shopping for yarn.

This is one of the first times I tried working color changes.  It surprised me how easy they were to do.  Elanor and I agreed that it would look better as a beanie, so I left off the ear flaps.  I think it came out quite well.
